The James Bar Remodel gave one of downtown Missoula’s familiar gathering places a new energy while building on the foundation of the original space.

Completed in 2020 with Paradigm Architecture, the remodel introduced a horseshoe bar, elevated seating, green walls, warm lighting, reclaimed wood, hardwood floors, ceramic tile, locally sourced fir, and large-format vintage musician photography. The updated layout created a more social, bar-forward experience while keeping the warmth and character that made James Bar recognizable.

The project continued a long relationship with the ownership team behind James Bar and Al’s & Vic’s, and gave the space a distinct second chapter.
