In Missoula’s University District, this 1939 Spanish Revival home was renovated to preserve its historic character while making the interior work better for modern family life.
Working with MMW Architects, the project kept the home’s original street presence intact while opening up the main level with cleaner circulation, brighter spaces, and subtle level changes that define each area without closing them off.
At the back of the house, new windows and doors bring more light into the kitchen and dining area while creating a stronger connection to the backyard. Outside, a slab patio extends from the rear of the home for seating and dining, while a second gathering area with a fire pit offers a more private place to gather.
The finished renovation respects the home’s Spanish Revival character while making it more open, comfortable, and useful for everyday life.
