This Rose Park basement remodel transformed an unfinished lower level into a comfortable, self-contained living space designed for flexible use.
Our team took the space down to the studs, framed new walls for a bathroom and bedroom, and rebuilt the lower level around a compact kitchen, living area, bathroom, and updated finishes throughout. The goal was to create a true home away from home for the owners while also making the space practical for rental use when needed.
The kitchen centers on a custom island with quartersawn white oak cabinetry, Seashell countertops from Integrity Granite, warm subway tile, engineered hardwood floors, and terracotta pendants selected in collaboration with Western Montana Lighting. Matching quartersawn white oak details continue through the cabinetry and window stools, helping the smaller space feel cohesive and finished.
In the bathroom, every inch had to work. A compact Kohler sink, hex tile flooring, contrasting blue-green accent tile, and built-in storage behind the shower plumbing wall helped bring function and personality into a tight footprint.
The finished remodel gives the lower level a more complete sense of purpose: simple, efficient, and welcoming without trying to overcomplicate the space.
