Runner’s Edge marked its 25th year in business with a major expansion of its downtown Missoula store, nearly doubling the footprint and giving the team more room for retail, storage, operations, and community connection.
This project continued a relationship that started years ago when we helped move Runner’s Edge from its original Main Street location into its current home on Higgins Avenue. For this latest expansion, our team opened the wall between the existing store and the neighboring storefront, demoed the old space, restored existing brick, brought the concrete floors back to life, and built out new areas for offices, fitting rooms, a conference room, and behind-the-scenes storage.
The expanded store now includes a larger shoe wall, new apparel displays, added inventory storage, and a reclaimed point-of-sale counter. The conference room was designed with large floor-to-ceiling windows, giving customers a view into the team’s operations and the work that supports their online store, events, and community programs.
Several details also connect the new expansion back to the store’s history. The fitting room doors were originally hand-built by one of our team members for Runner’s Edge’s first Higgins Avenue remodel and were reused here as part of the new layout.
The result is more room for the retail, events, operations, and community work that have made Runner’s Edge such a familiar part of Missoula.
