Originally built in 1941, this Daly Avenue home was remodeled and expanded to support modern living while keeping the character of the original structure intact.
Designed by JCM Architects, the project added a new garage, office, library, and mudroom, all integrated to feel like a natural extension of the home. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems were also fully modernized, improving comfort and efficiency for the years ahead.
At the center of the remodel is a kitchen designed for a professional chef. Custom cabinetry by Linley’s Cabinet Co. and a retractable drop-down hood keep the space highly functional without blocking courtyard views.
Reclaimed and existing materials were used wherever possible, helping the new work blend with the original home. The finished project brings new life to a 1940s University District residence while respecting the details that made it worth preserving.
