For this complete demolition and rebuild of a commercial space in a high-traffic area of Missoula, we supplied water to the adjacent property in exchange for windows on the east side of the building, allowing for fabulous views of the Missoula Valley. The building features tumbled brick, historic mouldings, and flooring salvaged from Bigfork, MT. This project won statewide historic awards, and matches the surrounding neighborhood so well that many people feel that they “remember” the building from an earlier time. The Johnston Building is now home to Meadowsweet Herbs, Ewam Buddhist Institute, and the Green Path Herb School.
