Before we could build this home, the one already on the site had to leave—carefully. Working alongside Davis Walker Designs, the original structure was cut into large sections, labeled and removed so it could be reconstructed elsewhere. That kept a substantial amount of material out of the landfill and left the existing foundation ready for an entirely new home.
From that foundation, we built upward and outward, extending west for a private main-floor primary wing and creating a second primary suite upstairs for guests. The living room, kitchen and north deck handle the more social side of the home, with floor-to-ceiling Marvin windows opening toward the Missoula Valley.
Vertical Ranchwood Artisan siding from Montana Timber Products and a standing-seam metal roof bring warmth and clean lines to the exterior. Inside, quartersawn white oak cabinetry by Linley’s, Burke Hardwood floors, Fantasy Brown leathered stone from Integrity Granite and an Ortal fireplace finished in gray American Clay establish the material palette. The seafoam kitchen includes Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances, two sinks from The Galley, a walk-in pantry and a custom breakfast nook.
It’s a home designed to take in the view, welcome a full house and still give everyone a place to step away.
